# The Rock Council

The **Rock/WaxRocks Council** represents the first major step toward community-driven governance in Pixel Journey. It serves as the highest influence level in our current governance structure, with plans to evolve into a full **PixelDAO** as the project grows. This is your hands-on education in real Web3 governance — learning how communities make decisions, allocate resources, and shape the future together.

### Why Governance Education Matters in Your Pixel Journey

Understanding and participating in governance is one of the most powerful skills in Web3. The Rock Council gives you direct experience with voting systems, resource allocation, community incentives, and collective decision-making. These are the exact skills that will power future PixelDAO structures, PxPackages-powered tools, and the broader decentralized web. By engaging here, you're not just influencing Pixel Journey — you're building transferable expertise for any DAO or community project.

### What You'll Learn Through the Rock Council

* **Governance Mechanics**: How voting power, proposals, and consensus actually work in practice.
* **Incentive Design**: How rewards, boosts, and allocations shape behavior and growth.
* **Community Leadership**: The balance between core team vision and decentralized input.
* **Long-term Visioning**: How early governance structures evolve into full DAOs.
* **Foundation for PxPackages & PxLearn**: Early exposure to modular governance logic that will power future tools and educational content.

### Current Governance Structure (5 Levels)

1. **Piga / Pixel Journey Team** – Top-level governance (creating and managing until the system becomes more autonomous).
2. **WaxRocks Council (including WaxPebbles)** – Highest community governance influence level.
3. **Pixel Journey Holders** (Pixal holders, whales, LP whales).
4. **Higher-ranked community members** (based on Discord activity and roles).
5. **Public / Common members**.

The team decides which topics and decisions to bring to community votes. Anyone can suggest new ideas or topics for discussion in Discord, and these can influence future votes.

### Voting Power System (Work in Progress)

Voting power is based on a combination of Discord level ranks and special ownership roles. The system is designed to reward active participation and meaningful holdings.

**Base voting power by level:**

* Level 5+: 0.5
* Level 10+: 1
* Level 20+: 2
* Level 42+: 4
* Level 69+: 8
* Level 200+: 32
* Level 400+: 56
* Level 500+: 64

**Role-based boosts (additive):**

* WaxRocks: +64
* WaxRock Stackers (+3): +140
* WaxRock Whale (+10): +140
* WaxPebbles: +6
* Pixal Holders (+1): +1
* Pixal Stackers (+50): +5
* Pixal Whales (+100): +25
* Pixal Krakens (+500 Pixals): +50
* Pixal Completist: +25
* PixelPet Completist: +1
* 1/1 Collectible Holders: +10 to +100
* Active Artists/Devs/Writers/Moderators: +5

**Total Voting Power = Base + All applicable role boosts**

This system allows dedicated participants to reach very high voting power through a combination of activity and holdings. It rewards both engagement (Discord levels) and commitment (holdings + staking).

### Pixel Journey Tips for Meaningful Council Participation

* **Build Your Voice**: Climb Discord levels and engage actively — every contribution counts toward influence.
* **Strategic Holdings**: Staking Pixals, ingredients, and other assets boosts your power and earns rewards simultaneously.
* **Stay Informed**: Follow council discussions in Discord and review proposals carefully.
* **Contribute Ideas**: Use the contribution channels — great ideas often become votes.
* **Think Ecosystem-Wide**: Decisions affect the entire 1050+ day journey and future PxPackages tools.
* **Learn by Doing**: Governance participation is one of the best ways to truly understand decentralized systems.

### WaxRocks

With \~400 WaxRocks planned for Season 1, holders gain special Discord access, governance influence, and a 30% XP boost on the leveling system. WaxRocks will eventually be airdropped to trait holders.

Distribution breakdown:

* \~25% via Pixal PFP traits (\~95 minted)
* \~25% craftable/blendable with PXJ (as WaxPebbles)
* \~25% via future Season 2 Core PFP Series
* \~25% allocated to team/dao/dev vaults for rewards and partnerships

### WaxPebbles

WaxPebbles are "lite" versions of WaxRocks (\~9% power). 100 WaxRocks = 1,000 WaxPebbles. You need 10 matching Pebbles + PXJ to craft one WaxRock.

Distribution:

* 40% craftable with PXJ only
* 40% craftable with PXJ + Pixel Ingredients
* 10% added to NFT reward pools
* 10% reserved for dev/dao/team vaults

Estimated crafting cost: \~250K PXJ per Pebble or \~3M PXJ per full Rock.

### Council Powers & Responsibilities

The WaxRocks Council controls a 25% share of creator market fees and a portion of monthly PXJ for allocation. They can vote on:

* Airdrops and rewards for the community or specific trait holders
* Boosting incentives and promotional efforts
* Adding liquidity or reward boosts
* Rewarding community contributions
* Suggesting partnerships and collaborations

The Council plays a key role in shaping the direction of Pixel Journey while we build toward a more autonomous PixelDAO. This is real governance education in action — preparing you for the decentralized future.

*Part of our ongoing mission to create the best, most educational Web3 journey material in the space — over 1050 days strong and growing.*
