# Season 1 (WAX)

## Where It All Begins
As we embark on **The Pixel Journey**, our mission is to explore the NFT and crypto space together, creating a shared experience that helps both newcomers and experienced users navigate the vast Web3 landscape — one pixel at a time.
### Our Approach to Seasons
We structure our journey into flexible, milestone-driven phases (originally called "seasons"), each focusing on different blockchain ecosystems and major achievements. Every phase builds upon the previous one, expanding Pixel Journey’s features, economy, collectibles, and — most importantly — your skills and understanding.
**Season 1** has been our extended foundational phase on the **WAX blockchain** — a deep, thoughtful period of building the core of the project. This phase has naturally taken longer than a single year (now over **1050 days strong** since our 2023 WAX launch and Spring 2024 Pixals mint) as we prioritized quality, sustainability, and proper technical maturation, including the major development of our **PxPackages** framework in late 2025–mid 2026 (Alpha miniDApps experimentation followed by a robust shared functionality rebuild). This sets the stage for the standalone PxLearn Portal and future multi-chain adventures.
### What You'll Learn & Master in Season 1
Season 1 is designed as a complete onboarding and skill-building experience:
* **Blockchain Basics & WAX Mastery**: Understand wallets, resources (CPU/NET/RAM), transactions, and why WAX excels for NFTs and education.
* **NFT Mechanics**: Minting, trading, inspecting, and the power of AtomicAssets on WAX.
* **DeFi Fundamentals**: Liquidity pools, staking, swaps on Alcor, TacoSwap, and more.
* **Crafting & Economy Systems**: Recycling Pixals into ingredients, blending, and sustainable tokenomics with yearly New Year’s Eve PXJ mints (\~10% remaining supply to dao.pxj / team.pxj / dev.pxj / defi.pxj / craft.pxj pools).
* **Community & Governance**: Discord roles, leaderboards, Rock Council participation, and collective decision-making.
* **Technical Foundations**: Early exposure to modular development via PxPackages.
Every step teaches real, transferable Web3 skills while being fun and rewarding.
### Season 1 – The WAX Blockchain Foundation
Our first phase focused on mastering the WAX ecosystem and laying the groundwork for the Pixel Journey world and economy:
* Learning about WAX & AtomicAsset NFTs and their unique advantages
* Exploring key ecosystem tools (WaxOnEdge, Alcor, NFTHive, NeftyBlocks, WaxDAO, etc.)
* Introducing the $PXJ token with utility, burn/faucet mechanics, and staking
* Building community through events, giveaways, and governance (WaxRocks / PixelDAO)
* Developing core mechanics: Pixal PFPs, Pixel Recycling, crafting, and blending
* Significant technical work on PxPackages (Alpha miniDApps → full rebuild with shared functionality)
### Bridging to New Frontiers
Later in Season 1 we began exploring bridges to other chains (starting with Polygon), setting the stage for future expansion and the multi-chain era.
### Pixal PFPs & Ingredient System
* **10,000 Pixal PFPs** – The first major source of Pixel Ingredients and your gateway into the economy.
* **Recycling Mechanics** – Up to 80% of Pixals can be burned to generate PixelPacks, which unpack into craftable, stakable single-pixel ingredients.
Each step is designed to empower collectors while keeping the economy sustainable and rewarding.
