# Security & Trust Principles

Security is not an add-on in **Px Packages** — it is a foundational design principle that influences every layer of the architecture. The goal is to build a system that users can genuinely trust with their assets, data, identity, and automation rules over the long term.

## 🎯 Core Security Philosophy

Px Packages follows several guiding principles:

* **User Sovereignty First** — Users remain in control of their keys, data, and automation rules at all times.
* **Defense in Depth** — Multiple layers of protection are applied rather than relying on any single control.
* **Transparency Where Possible** — While sensitive implementation details are protected, the high-level security approach and user-facing behaviors are designed to be understandable.
* **Progressive Security** — Basic wallet functionality is accessible to everyone, while advanced features (especially automation) are progressively unlocked through ownership and demonstrated engagement.
* **Long-term Thinking** — Security architecture is designed to scale and remain robust as the ecosystem grows across multiple chains and many years of use.

### Secure Key & Vault Management (PxVault)

* Strong emphasis on secure generation, storage, and usage of private keys.
* Support for offline/air-gapped workflows where appropriate.
* Clear separation between hot and cold paths for sensitive operations.

### Cross-Portal & Shared State Security

* Strict controls on what information can flow between portals.
* User-visible and user-controllable sharing permissions.
* Protection against unauthorized or unexpected state changes triggered from other experiences.

### Automation Security

* Advanced automation features (especially those in PxVault) are gated behind meaningful ownership and engagement.
* Clear auditability of automated actions and their triggers.
* Safeguards against unintended or malicious automation behavior.

### Infrastructure & Package Security

* Shared packages undergo rigorous review and testing.
* Consistent security patterns are enforced across all experiences built on Px Packages.
* Ongoing monitoring and response processes for the shared infrastructure.

## 🔗 Connection to Ownership & Progression

Many advanced security-sensitive features (particularly automation) are intentionally tied to **ownership and achievement levels**. This creates a natural progression where deeper capabilities become available to users who have demonstrated real commitment to the ecosystem. It also reduces the attack surface by limiting exposure of powerful features to newer or less-engaged accounts.

## 🚀 Long-Term Vision

Security in Px Packages is expected to evolve toward:

* Even stronger user-controlled key management and recovery options.
* More sophisticated but still transparent automation guardrails.
* Potential for community auditing and transparency mechanisms around shared packages.
* Robust multi-chain security models as Px Portals expand beyond WAX/Antelope.

Trust is earned over time through consistent, thoughtful security design — not through marketing claims.
