Px Badges
β οΈ DEVELOPMENT STATUS (June 2026) The Px Badges system is in active design and early implementation. Core badge categories, visual design, display mechanics across portals, and integration with achievements and ownership tracking are being defined. Many specifics around badge criteria and unlock conditions are still being refined. We welcome high-level feedback on what kinds of badges feel meaningful and desirable. Join our Discord to share your thoughts.
Px Badges serve as visible symbols of both achievements and ownership/holding status across the Pixel Journey ecosystem. They act as recognizable markers that users can display and that the system can reference in various contexts.
π― Two Types of Badges
Px Badges come in two main categories:
1. Achievement-Based Badges
These represent completed milestones and accomplishments (see the separate Achievements page). Earning an achievement typically grants a corresponding badge. These are proof of journey and proof of work β they reflect what the user has done and achieved over time.
2. Ownership & Status-Based Badges
These badges reflect the userβs current holdings and status rather than completed actions. Examples include:
Holding a certain number of Pixal PFPs
Maintaining a high staking position or specific staking tier
Achieving high rankings in PxHot
Being a top buyer or seller in PxMarket
High placement on crafting or staking leaderboards
Other proof-of-ownership or current-status markers
These badges can change over time as holdings and rankings shift.
π Relationship Between Achievements and Badges
While most achievements are represented through the badge system, not all badges are achievements. Ownership and status-based badges exist independently and serve a different purpose β they highlight current standing and holdings within the ecosystem.
This dual system allows Pixel Journey to recognize both:
What users have done (achievements)
What users currently hold and represent (ownership/status badges)
π Examples of Badge Types
Journey & Achievement Badges β Earned through completing learning paths, battle performance, crafting milestones, staking consistency, etc.
Ownership Badges β Based on current holdings (e.g., number of Pixals, staking levels)
Performance & Ranking Badges β Reflecting high placement in PxHot, market activity, or leaderboards
Seasonal & Event Badges β Tied to specific seasons or limited-time campaigns
Special Recognition Badges β For community contributions or unique accomplishments
π Long-Term Vision
Over time, badges are expected to:
Be visible across multiple portals and in user profiles
Unlock cosmetic themes, features, or advantages in various experiences
Serve as social proof and identity markers within the community
Integrate with future governance or reputation systems
Badges help create a rich, layered identity system that reflects both a userβs journey and their current standing in the Pixel Journey ecosystem.
