# What is Pixel Journey?

The goals, visions and first plans for the paths to come

### What is Pixel Journey?

**Pixel Journey** is an interactive, long-term, community-powered adventure where **crypto education, meaningful exploration, and pixel-perfect creation** are at the very center. 💙🧩

While collecting and bonding over unique **NFTs and digital pixel art** is a joyful and important part of the experience 🖼️🎨, our primary mission is to **guide explorers through the evolving Web3 landscape — one blockchain, one tool, one milestone at a time**.

We began our adventure on the **WAX blockchain** in 2023, leveraging its excellent bridging capabilities, vibrant NFT community, high TPS, near-zero fees, and carbon-neutral ethos. From this strong foundation we minted our **Pixal PFPs** in Spring 2024 and have now journeyed for **over 1050 days** — a remarkable feat in Web3! From this base we have expanded to Ethereum, Polygon, Base, and beyond, learning, integrating, and building as we go.

Our approach is deliberate and community-driven: we set clear milestones, design mechanics that make sense and feel rewarding, discover the best tools each ecosystem offers, and focus on real utility and education. By exploring and building together, we create something greater than any single person could achieve alone.

**Season 1** has been our extended foundational phase on WAX — a deep, thoughtful period of building the core (Pixal PFPs, PXJ economy, recycling & crafting systems, governance via the Rock Council, education resources, and technical infrastructure including the major **PxPackages** framework in late 2025–mid 2026). This phase has naturally taken longer than a single year because we prioritize quality, sustainability, and proper maturation over rushing forward. PxPackages is our modular foundation for future miniDApps and the upcoming PxLearn Portal.

### Why We Chose WAX as Our Starting Point

WAX offered the perfect launchpad: powerful NFT standards (AtomicAssets), thriving marketplaces (AtomicHub, NeftyBlocks, NFTHive), strong DeFi (Alcor, TacoSwap), and seamless bridges to the wider Web3 multiverse. It allowed us to focus on education and fun mechanics without the friction of high fees or complexity — the ideal environment to craft our pixelish vision.

### Our Educational Philosophy

We believe the best way to learn Web3 is by *doing* it together. Every guide, every mechanic, every drop is designed to teach real skills while being rewarding. From wallet setup to crafting, staking, and governance — you’re not just reading; you’re living the journey. This GitBook, combined with our future standalone PxLearn Portal, will be the most comprehensive, welcoming, and pixel-perfect Web3 educational resource in the space.

### For Developers & Builders

If you’re here to build, integrate, or level up your Web3 skills, we’ve created dedicated pathways just for you:

* [**For Developers**](https://docs.pixeljourney.xyz/journey-use-cases/for-developers/) — The welcoming hub with clear next steps.
* [**PxDev Examples Vault**](https://docs.pixeljourney.xyz/pxlabs/px-dev-examples/) (inside PxLabs) — 170+ production-grade educational code quests covering WAX fundamentals, modern frontend stacks, verifiable mechanics, wallets, DeFi, NFTs, cross-chain patterns, and our engineering standards. Most repos are in private preview — request access on GitHub or Discord.
* **Education Developer Guides** — Deep best practices and patterns for [WAX/Antelope](https://docs.pixeljourney.xyz/education/antelope-ecosystem-guides/wax/developer-guides/), [Solana](https://docs.pixeljourney.xyz/education/solana-ecosystem-guides/developer-guides/), and [EVM chains](https://docs.pixeljourney.xyz/education/evm-ecosystem-guides/developer-guides/).

These resources are built from our real 1,050+ day production experience (PxWallet, PxHot, PxPackages, etc.) and are designed to help you move fast while building beautiful, secure, educational experiences.

### How to Join the Adventure

1. **Start with the Basics** — Set up your WAX wallet (Cloud Wallet or Anchor) using our guides.

## 🆕 "I’ve Never Owned an NFT Before…"

Totally normal. In fact, **most people** in Web3 started exactly where you are.

**Quick truth bomb:** A **Pixal** is an **NFT** — a unique digital collectible that lives on the blockchain. You truly own it. No one can take it away.

If you want the gentle, friendly explanation of what NFTs actually are, head here:

→ [**What Are NFTs?**](https://github.com/pixel-journey/gitbook-docs/blob/main/getting-started/education/what-are-nfts.md)

We’ll also teach you:

* What a wallet really does (it’s not scary)
* How to keep your pixels safe
* Why WAX is one of the best chains for beginners
* What "gas fees" are and why WAX makes them tiny

***

## 🛠️ First Wallet Quest (Beginner Friendly)

Your wallet is your passport to the entire pixelverse (and all of Web3).

**Recommended starting point:** WAX Cloud Wallet or Anchor Wallet (both excellent for beginners on WAX).

**We have full step-by-step guides here:**

→ [Getting Set Up on WAX](https://github.com/pixel-journey/gitbook-docs/blob/main/getting-started/education/getting-set-up-on-wax/README.md)

It covers:

* Creating your first wallet in under 3 minutes
* Backing it up safely (super important!)
* Adding a little WAX for fees
* Connecting to marketplaces and the Pixel Journey ecosystem

Once you have a wallet… you’re already most of the way to owning your first Pixal.

***

## 🟦 How to Get Your First Pixal

There are several friendly paths:

1. **Mint during a drop** (when available) — usually the most direct
2. **Buy on a marketplace** (we’ll link trusted ones like NFTHive)
3. **Earn through community events or quests** (sometimes we give them away for participation!)
4. **Trade with other players** in our Discord marketplace channels

**Full guide:**\
→ [The Pixal PFPs](https://github.com/pixel-journey/gitbook-docs/blob/main/getting-started/season-1/the-pixal-pfps/README.md)

**Don’t stress** about getting a "rare" one at first. Every Pixal is special. The real value comes from *using* it in the ecosystem.

***

## 💰 What is PXJ and Why Should I Care?

**PXJ** is the native utility token of Pixel Journey.

You can:

* Earn it by playing, crafting, recycling, and contributing
* Stake it to earn more and participate in governance
* Use it in future features and the broader economy
* Help shape the direction of the project through votes

It’s not just "points" — it’s real on-chain value tied to a living ecosystem.

**Learn more:**\

> **Current 2026 Ecosystem Reality Check (Important!)**\
> The WAX ecosystem has evolved. Some platforms have changed hands or gone quiet. **Always DYOR**, but here are our current top recommendations based on reliability and active support:
>
> * **Top Wallet Recommendation**: **Anchor Wallet** (free via AtomicHub onboarding page — highly recommended primary choice right now).
> * **Cloud Wallet Update**: Now requires **passkeys** (Google Passkey Manager etc.). Mobile apps discontinued. Social login/OAuth scrapped. 5 WAX paywall back for some features. Less "cloud" custodial feel — treat it as a solid secondary option.
> * **Marketplace**: **AtomicHub** is currently the top recommended active marketplace.
> * **Avoid or Use Caution**: Neftyblocks and Wombat Wallet appear largely inactive/MIA after ownership handovers and lack of maintenance. We cannot highly recommend them at this time — focus on proven active tools instead.
>
> Our own **PxMarket** (part of the upcoming PxPortals suite) is in development and will soon offer a native Pixel Journey experience.

*Updated to reflect current realities, flexible phasing, and our commitment to education and sustainability.*

# Discord Roles, LVL Ranks and Lounges

Where the magic happens

{% hint style="info" %}
Collecting Discord roles and climbing the leveling system is one of the most fun and rewarding parts of the Pixel Journey. Roles unlock special channels, voting power, XP boosts, and often early access or whitelist perks for future crafts, drops, and events.
{% endhint %}

Our main hub for daily community life, discussions, events, and collaboration is **Discord**. Important announcements, votes, and big updates are also shared on 𝕏, but Discord is where the real Pixel Journey magic happens day-to-day.

The Pixel Journey Discord is a place to:

* Meet fellow explorers, connect, and build friendships
* Learn about every part of the project and the ecosystems we journey through
* Get help or help others (we’re all learning together)
* Participate in events, giveaways, and occasional airdrops/faucets
* Share ideas, art, DYOR, and feedback
* Help shape the direction of the project through discussions and votes
* Stay up to date with Pixel Journey news and the wider Web3 space
* Grow as a creator and community member
* Have fun while exploring Web3 with like-minded people

## NFT-Wallet Linking & Verification

To unlock ownership-based roles (Proof of Possession) and receive rewards, you can link your wallet(s) to Discord.

We currently support:

* **WAX** linking via Honeycomb (the main method right now)
* ETH/Polygon linking (coming soon / being finalized)

{% hint style="warning" %}
Setting up Honeycomb currently costs around \~8.8 WAX. You’ll need to purchase a Honeycomb from the sixpm drop on Neftyblocks and transfer/burn it with your unique memo.

Use the `/honeycomb` or `/verify` commands in our Discord for full step-by-step instructions.
{% endhint %}

### Honeycomb (WAX Linking)

Honeycomb lets you securely verify your WAX wallet and automatically receive roles based on what you hold (Pixal Holder, Wax Holder, Pixal Whale, etc.). These roles give you:

* Voting power in community votes
* Beautiful colored roles
* 10–80% XP boost on our leveling system
* Eligibility for role-specific airdrops and giveaways

<https://honeycomb.sixpm.dev/>

### Polygon / ETH Linking

Support for linking ETH and Polygon wallets is in active development and will be added soon. Watch our Discord announcements for updates.

## Our Leveling System

We use an Arcane-powered leveling system. Everyone starts at Level 1 and earns server XP simply by chatting and participating.

As you level up, you unlock new ranks and private channels. Here’s what the early ranks unlock:

* **Level 5+** (Novice role): Access to community suggestions, events & giveaways channel, ecosystem news
* **Level 10+** (Green role): The Green Room (private lounge), community contribution channels (dev discussions, voting, brainstorming, art, charts)
* **Level 20+**: Community DYOR sections, free-drops channel, and more (much more coming!)

Level 5 is achievable in just a few hours of activity. Level 10 usually takes around 24 hours of server time — very doable for most people within 1–2 weeks.

Higher levels take more time, but you also unlock more channels and opportunities to earn XP faster. A portion of Pixal PFP sales revenue is returned to the community through role-specific airdrops and events — the higher you climb, the more opportunities you unlock!

## NFT Ownership Roles & XP Boosts

Holding certain NFTs (Pixals, WaxRocks, 1/1s, or partner project assets) can unlock exclusive roles with extra perks and channels.

Pixal holders, WaxRocks holders, and Server Boosters also receive XP multipliers (10–30% boosts that can stack up to \~90–100%).

## tip.cc – Our Discord Tip Bot

We use tip.cc, a free multi-crypto tip bot that supports hundreds of tokens. It’s perfect for tipping friends, running airdrops, or red packets.

Examples:

* `$tip @username 5wax`
* `$airdrop 20wax` (3-minute timer)
* `$airdrop 20wax 2h`
* `$redpacket 20wax`

You can also check prices with `$ticker`.

**Safety note:** tip.cc will never ask you to sign transactions or share personal information. Always be cautious of scams in DMs or suspicious links.

## Server Rank Private Lounges

Every 10 levels a new private lounge unlocks (starting with the Green Room at level 10). These are cozy spaces for more active community members.

Reaching higher lounges can give you early alpha access, influence on certain decisions, and priority for lounge-specific airdrops.

Because of claim bots, we often run airdrops and special events inside these lounges rather than public channels. Putting in the time to climb the ranks really pays off!

**Join the Pixel Journey Discord:** <https://chat.pixeljourney.xyz>

Invite your friends too — the more the merrier!

## Moderation & Safety

Our server is moderated 24/7. It’s meant to be a safe, welcoming space. However, we cannot take responsibility for random spam or scam links posted by users. Please stay vigilant and never click suspicious links.

If you see something concerning, ping a moderator right away.

# Pre-Season & OGs

The period leading up to our first NFT drops (and our Pixal PFPs)

The **Pre-Season** was the exciting launchpad period leading up to our very first drops and the release of the Pixal PFPs. It was the time when the earliest community members joined our Discord and 𝕏 channels, helped shape the project through feedback, and got a true head start on the Pixel Journey.

During Pre-Season we:

* Shared regular development updates and progress
* Asked for community input on art, mechanics, and direction
* Ran frequent ecosystem giveaways (roughly twice a week), distributing WAX NFTs to lucky participants
* Launched our Discord leveling system, with many early members already unlocking the first private lounges

### How to Earned the OG Role

The most dedicated early supporters could earn the special **OG role** by completing one of these activities:

* **Leveling Event**: Be among the first 10–35 to reach Level 10 and unlock the private lounge
* **Inviting Event**: Be among the first \~5–10 to successfully refer 10+ new members using your invite link
* **Content / Art Contribution**: Create Pixel Journey-themed graphics, emojis, stickers, gifs, banners, memes, or blog posts (up to 10 contributors)
* **Collab / Partnership Help**: Help us secure new partnerships or collabs (pre-launch or for the future)
* **Giveaway Participant Bonus**: Top or random winners of our early Carl-bot giveaways had a chance at the OG role

The OG role was primarily for bragging rights and recognition of early support, but it also came with occasional whitelist access and bonus airdrop eligibility along the way.

{% hint style="info" %}
The Pre-Season officially ended on December 31st, 2023. It is no longer possible to earn the OG role.
{% endhint %}

Even though the OG role is now closed, our earliest supporters and OGs remain a foundational part of the Pixel Journey. Their early feedback, energy, and contributions helped build the strong community and vision we have today. We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who was there from the very beginning! 🙏

If you joined later, don’t worry — there are still plenty of ways to become a valued and active part of the journey through leveling, contributing, and participating in events and governance.

# What is the goal?

Every project should have goals. And so, of course, does the Pixel Journey!

Pixel Journey exists to create something meaningful, fun, lasting, and truly educational in Web3. Here’s what we’re aiming for — the vision that has guided us through over **1050 days** since our 2023 WAX launch and Spring 2024 Pixals mint:

* **A welcoming community** where everyone can have fun, connect, and feel at home — no matter where they are on their Web3 journey.
* **Real friendships and collaboration** — meeting new people and building together along this shared adventure.
* **Safe, guided education** — helping newcomers (and experienced explorers) learn about NFTs, crypto, blockchains, tools, and governance in a clear, low-pressure, hands-on way (always with proper DYOR encouragement).
* **Showcasing the best of each ecosystem** — highlighting the amazing (and often surprisingly accessible) features across the chains we journey through, starting with WAX’s powerful NFT and bridging capabilities.
* **Connecting WAX with the wider Web3 world** — building bridges between communities, projects, and opportunities as we expand multi-chain.
* **Elevating pixel art and collectibles** — making JPEGs and pixels more valuable, useful, and enjoyable through mechanics like recycling, crafting, and PxPackages-powered experiences.
* **New opportunities for creators** — giving artists and projects fresh ways to reach engaged audiences through our collections, pixelated themes, and Pixel economy.
* **Great collecting experiences** — helping collectors discover neat, epic, and meaningful things to own, stake, craft, and enjoy.
* **Sustainable, long-term design** — building mechanics and systems that are balanced, stable, and built to stand the test of time (including our flexible milestone-driven Seasons and yearly New Year’s Eve PXJ mint of \~10% remaining supply to dao.pxj / team.pxj / dev.pxj / defi.pxj / craft.pxj pools) — and hopefully inspiring other projects.
* **Preparation for the future** — developing PxPackages as our modular foundation (from late 2025–mid 2026 Alpha miniDApps experimentation to robust shared rebuild) to power future dApps and the standalone PxLearn Portal — the most comprehensive educational hub for Web3 explorers.

**TL;DR:** To Pixel and Journey all the things — together! 🥳👾

We’re not just building a project. We’re building a shared adventure and the best Web3 educational journey material the space has ever seen. Your participation, feedback, and energy make it all possible. Let’s keep pixeling forward! 🚀🧩

# Season 1 (WAX)

The very beginning of this new grand Pixel Journey 🛸🌱

{% hint style="info" %}
**New to WAX?** Check out our guides on [Getting Set Up on the WAX Blockchain](/new-here-start-your-pixel-journey-here/getting-set-up-on-wax).
{% endhint %}

## Where It All Begins

As we embark on **The Pixel Journey**, our mission is to explore the NFT and crypto space together, creating a shared experience that helps both newcomers and experienced users navigate the vast Web3 landscape — one pixel at a time.

### Our Approach to Seasons

We structure our journey into flexible, milestone-driven phases (originally called "seasons"), each focusing on different blockchain ecosystems and major achievements. Every phase builds upon the previous one, expanding Pixel Journey’s features, economy, collectibles, and — most importantly — your skills and understanding.

**Season 1** has been our extended foundational phase on the **WAX blockchain** — a deep, thoughtful period of building the core of the project. This phase has naturally taken longer than a single year (now over **1050 days strong** since our 2023 WAX launch and Spring 2024 Pixals mint) as we prioritized quality, sustainability, and proper technical maturation, including the major development of our **PxPackages** framework in late 2025–mid 2026 (Alpha miniDApps experimentation followed by a robust shared functionality rebuild). This sets the stage for the standalone PxLearn Portal and future multi-chain adventures.

### What You'll Learn & Master in Season 1

Season 1 is designed as a complete onboarding and skill-building experience:

* **Blockchain Basics & WAX Mastery**: Understand wallets, resources (CPU/NET/RAM), transactions, and why WAX excels for NFTs and education.
* **NFT Mechanics**: Minting, trading, inspecting, and the power of AtomicAssets on WAX.
* **DeFi Fundamentals**: Liquidity pools, staking, swaps on Alcor, TacoSwap, and more.
* **Crafting & Economy Systems**: Recycling Pixals into ingredients, blending, and sustainable tokenomics with yearly New Year’s Eve PXJ mints (\~10% remaining supply to dao.pxj / team.pxj / dev.pxj / defi.pxj / craft.pxj pools).
* **Community & Governance**: Discord roles, leaderboards, Rock Council participation, and collective decision-making.
* **Technical Foundations**: Early exposure to modular development via PxPackages.

Every step teaches real, transferable Web3 skills while being fun and rewarding.

### Season 1 – The WAX Blockchain Foundation

Our first phase focused on mastering the WAX ecosystem and laying the groundwork for the Pixel Journey world and economy:

* Learning about WAX & AtomicAsset NFTs and their unique advantages
* Exploring key ecosystem tools (WaxOnEdge, Alcor, NFTHive, NeftyBlocks, WaxDAO, etc.)
* Introducing the $PXJ token with utility, burn/faucet mechanics, and staking
* Building community through events, giveaways, and governance (WaxRocks / PixelDAO)
* Developing core mechanics: Pixal PFPs, Pixel Recycling, crafting, and blending
* Significant technical work on PxPackages (Alpha miniDApps → full rebuild with shared functionality)

### Bridging to New Frontiers

Later in Season 1 we began exploring bridges to other chains (starting with Polygon), setting the stage for future expansion and the multi-chain era.

### Pixal PFPs & Ingredient System

* **10,000 Pixal PFPs** – The first major source of Pixel Ingredients and your gateway into the economy.
* **Recycling Mechanics** – Up to 80% of Pixals can be burned to generate PixelPacks, which unpack into craftable, stakable single-pixel ingredients.

Each step is designed to empower collectors while keeping the economy sustainable and rewarding.

### How Season 1 Prepares You for the Full Journey & PxLearn Portal

Season 1 gives you hands-on experience with the fundamentals that will power everything that follows. The skills, assets, and community connections you build here directly translate to future phases, PxPackages-powered dApps, and the comprehensive educational experiences in our upcoming standalone PxLearn Portal. This is not just a season — it's the solid pixel foundation for a lifetime of Web3 exploration.

### Pixel Journey Tips for Maximizing Season 1

* Start small: Master wallet setup and one marketplace before diving deep.
* Participate actively: Stake, craft, and engage in Discord for roles and rewards.
* Document your journey: Note what you learn — it will help others and prepare you for contributing to PxLearn content.
* DYOR but lean on our guides: They’re written to be the clearest, most welcoming resources in the space.

Are you ready to explore, craft, and adventure with us? 🚀🎨

*This page is part of our ongoing effort to create the best, most educational Web3 journey material in the space.*

# Kickstarting the PXJ-Economy

The heart of the Pixel Journey economy

## $PXJ Token: The Heart of Pixel Journey

The **$PXJ token** is the core utility and governance token of the Pixel Journey ecosystem. It powers collectibles, staking, rewards, crafting, recycling, and future governance. Understanding $PXJ gives you deep insight into sustainable tokenomics, incentive design, and how a community-driven economy actually functions in Web3.

### Why the PXJ Economy Matters for Your Pixel Journey

The $PXJ economy is your practical classroom for real Web3 economics. By participating in staking, crafting, and governance, you learn how tokens create utility, how burns and mints maintain balance, and how community participation drives value. These lessons directly prepare you for future PxPackages-powered dApps, multi-chain expansions, and the comprehensive educational experiences in our standalone PxLearn Portal. This is not just a token — it’s the connective tissue of our 1050+ day journey.

### Token Release Mechanism (Updated Reality)

While we originally envisioned a per-season distribution model, the actual implementation has been a consistent **yearly mint at New Year’s Eve** of approximately **10% of the remaining unminted supply**. These new tokens are allocated across our five core pools:

* **dao.pxj**
* **team.pxj**
* **dev.pxj**
* **defi.pxj**
* **craft.pxj**

This yearly cadence has been our practice for the past two years and will continue, providing predictable and sustainable support for the ecosystem.

### Season 1 Token Allocation Context

Season 1 has been our extended foundational phase (early 2024 through mid-2026+). A major focus during late 2025 – mid 2026 was the intensive development of our **PxPackages** framework (Alpha miniDApps experimentation → full rebuild with shared, robust functionality). This technical maturation has strengthened the entire backend and prepared us for smoother future expansions.

The initial Season 1 allocation supported:

* Liquidity provision and staking rewards (Alcor, TacoSwap, Pepperstake)
* NFT/collectible incentives and WaxDAO crafting rewards
* Governance via the WaxRocks Council (early PixelDAO)
* Burnable NFT rewards and community events
* Partnership and promotional allocations

### What You'll Learn from the PXJ Economy

* **Tokenomics in Action**: How mint schedules, burns, and allocations create sustainable growth.
* **Utility Design**: Real examples of tokens powering crafting, staking, and governance.
* **Incentive Alignment**: How rewards encourage participation and long-term holding.
* **Community Governance**: The role of tokens in decentralized decision-making.
* **Preparation for the Future**: Direct ties to PxPackages modular tools and the PxLearn Portal.

### $PXJ Token Utility

* **Crafting & Recycling**: Required for special blends, upgrades, and obtaining new collectibles.
* **Staking & Rewards**: Earn through LP provision, NFT staking, and governance participation.
* **Burn Mechanics**: Used in recycling routes to create new assets.
* **Future Governance**: Will play an increasing role in PixelDAO as the project evolves.

### Pixel Journey Tips for Engaging with the PXJ Economy

* **Start with Staking**: Put your assets to work early to understand reward mechanics.
* **Participate in Crafting**: Use PXJ in blends to see utility in action.
* **Follow Governance**: Council decisions often involve PXJ allocations — stay informed.
* **Think Long-Term**: The yearly mint model rewards patient, active participants.
* **Track Your Learning**: Note how different utilities affect your strategy — this builds real expertise.

The $PXJ economy is designed to be sustainable, with built-in burn/faucet balance and community-driven incentives. It forms the backbone that ties together Pixals, Pixel Ingredients, crafting, and long-term participation.

We’re excited to see how the community continues to build and innovate with $PXJ as we move into future phases — over 1050 days strong and growing!

*Part of our mission to create the best, most educational Web3 journey material in the space.*

# PXJ Basic Info

Token ticker: $PXJ

* Max Supply: 10 billion (10 000 000 000)
* Amount distributed per season: 10% of the remaining unallocated $PXJ supply
* Amount allocated to distribution so far:\
  \- Season 1: 1 billion (1 000 000 000 PXJ)\
  \- Season 2: 900 million (900 000 000 PXJ)\
  \- Season 3: 810 million\
  \- .. etc.

By following this model each Season along the way will slowly have a lower allocation of PXJ tokens to be released into the circulation, leading to around a 6.9 Season/year token distribution halving mechanic.

# PXJ Redeemables

As part of our initial PXJ distribution, we've decided to distribute 10% of the season 1 supply (1% of total PXJ supply) via our "PXJ Token Coin" redeemable NFTs.

<figure><img src="/files/ti3peZM9rYabusUZ1cLH" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>What the redeemable PXJ Token Coin NFT looks like</p></figcaption></figure>

These NFTs will be obtainable via giveaways on our various platforms, in events, and via possible ecosystem collaborations.

\~ 40% of the redeemable NFTs will also be sold directly for Wax (and PXJ itself), via our NeftyBlocks drops page here. This will help stabilize our token initially while it's being distributed, and should aid early Pixel Journey adventurers in getting a bag of $PXJ available to participate in our TacoSwap initiatives (apart from burning their [Pixal](/season-1/the-pixal-pfps) PFPs for [Packs/Single Pixels to stake](/season-1/recycling-and-crafting/pixel-ingredients-and-pack-staking)).

When unpacked each of the two types will unpack into a random amount of PXJ. For the coins it ranges from 2000 PXJ to 100k PXJ, and for chests it ranges from 10k PXJ to 750k PXJ.

<figure><img src="/files/xTUruLp1KiBr3uzwSL6x" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

They will come in two versions; Coins and Chests, with chests being 5 times more powerful in average.

Find them on the secondary marketplaces right here, with PXJ Schema filtered on:

* [Redeemables on Atomichub Market](https://atomichub.io/market?primary_chain=wax-mainnet\&collection_name=pixeljourney)
* [Redeemables on Neftyblocks Market](https://neftyblocks.com/marketplace/listing?schema_name=redeemables\&collection_name=pixeljourney\&sort=price\&order=asc\&page=1)
* [Redeemables on NFTHive Market](https://nfthive.io/collection/pixeljourney/redeemables?search_type=sales\&order_by=date_desc\&tab=market)

### Redeeming the PXJ Token Coins and Chests:

The redemption of the PXJ tokens will be possible via two(later three?) different sites/services:\\

This first initial option via WaxDAO blends offer a direct 8000 PXJ result, but for a limited amount of Token Coins.

* Initially via our WaxDAO Super Blend here:

{% embed url="<https://waxdao.io/blends/1714>" %}
<https://waxdao.io/blends/1714>
{% endembed %}

Or this 5x multi blend via WaxDAO where you can blend 5 of the tokens for

{% embed url="<https://waxdao.io/blends/1710>" %}
<https://waxdao.io/blends/1710>
{% endembed %}

* Neftyblocks - Blend redemption page with a 2000 - 100000 PXJ blend outcome chance:

<https://neftyblocks.com/collection/pixeljourney/blends/blend.nefty/33064>
{% endembed %}

This option will offer the random blend outcomes ranging from 2000 to 100k PXJ for \[$PXJ Token Coins], and in the future there'll similarly be one from 10k to 750k PXJ for the \[$PXJ Token Chests] later to come.

# Staking & LP-Rewards

As part of our Kickstart of the PXJ economy, we'll have both single and paired token LP farms! 📉📈📉📈

As we have allocated 20% of the Season 1 $PXJ Token Supply to LP rewards, we will use these to explore how various farm functions work on both the TacoSwap platform (using their MEALS and SALSA pools), and on the newly released Alcor Exchange Farms.

# TacoSwap (MEALS & SALSA)

<https://swap.tacocrypto.io/salsa?search=pxj>If you're all new to TacoSwap and their MEALS/SALSA pools, consider checking this [article from their medium introducing it](https://medium.com/@taco.wax/taco-swap-18aa7624af7).

Otherwise, in quick summary here:

The Taco Project on Wax offers a series of staking reward tools on their TacoSwap site, which offers great LP-provider reward possibilities that we plan to introduce to the Pixel Journey here in Season 1.

They have two different types:

* Single staking rewards: SALSA pools
* Token pair LP rewards: MEALS pools

Using these two options projects can setup/create reward programs/periods where they distribute stakers of their project tokens. Rewards can be both tokens (e.g. $WAXP, $PXJ or the platforms own $TACO token), or NFT rewards.

These rewards become available claimable daily to stakers, and can have a widely varying APY % value, depending on a ton of different factors such as amount of liquidity locked (TVL), volume (as LP provider fees can add up significantly), and number of users participating in each pool/reward option made available.

# PXJ (Pepper)staking

Stake your PXJ in our Pepperstake farms on its own, and earn PXJ rewards!

<figure><img src="/files/9L1X6fX9pWGQM5fBPk60" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% embed url="<https://pepperstake.online/pool/203>" %}
<https://pepperstake.online/pool/203>
{% endembed %}

Via Pepper Stake you have the option to stake your PXJ without pairing them up with anything, and instead locking them up for a certain period by themselves, to take part in a share of the daily distribution of PXJ rewarded to the pool participants.

In the info table on the right hand of the Pepper Stake pool UI, you can find some basic info about our pool there:

* Period 10/365 means we're on day 10 of a year of rewards there
* Next payout indicates when the next payout is distributed
* There's currently 37 users participating/staked
* There's a unstaking period of 72 hours (which means it'll take 72 hrs from you decide to unstake from the pool till you're able to withdraw your PXJ from it, and during that period the unlocking PXJ wont be generating rewards)
* There are no min/max stakes required to take part in the pool (they're unlimited)

In the "Pool Info" table further below you can check up on how much PXJ is staked in total in the pool. This is a very important metric, as the more tokens are locked the lower the rewards per tokens locked.\
There's no direct "APR stat" on Pepper Stake at this moment, however you can calculate it from the total tokens staked in the following manner:

`APR = Total Staked Tokens / (Total Staking Rewards per day × Days in a year) ×100`

From the current data/info available on the screenshot in the top of the page, we would at the time of writing then have 3.5M PXJ locked which leaves us with the following APR calculation:

`3500000 / (30000 x 365) x 100 ≈ 312.857% APR`

As there's typically "less risk" in Single Token pools, with only one token being staked, then APR will tend to be slightly lower here than on Alcor/TacoSwap LPs where the tokens are paired. Each type of pool has each their upsides/downsides in different situations, and can all be worthwhile dipping into.

# Pepperstake $PXJ Staking Farms

Stake PXJ -> Earn PXJ!

<figure><img src="/files/iqGm8Zza1T4Sykik9t2r" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

On Pepperstake we have our PXJ single token staking farm here, where you can stake your tokens and take part in daily token rewards. You don't need to pair your PXJ staked here with any other tokens, however there's a catch: here there's a unstaking period which means that 72 hrs go by from when you decide to unstake till you can withdraw your PXJ position from Pepperstake again once you decide to take it out again 😉👀

Make sure to take a look at the estimated payout per 1k PXJ staked, and the total staked PXJ at the farm page here below, the image from this docs page might be out of date, however 3.5M PXJ locked leaves the daily rewards to around a 350% APR at the time of writing:

Our Pixal PFPs launched with a total supply of **10,000 mints**. Each was minted for 35 WAX (\~$2 at the time) in WAXP or other accepted secondary tokens. The collection features \~323 different traits across 10 trait groups.

<figure><img src="/files/ITA35aMDPVOKjhx3xT79" alt="" width="375"><figcaption><p>An example of a Pixal with a green BG, a stone WaxRock and an Ice Elemental Pet</p></figcaption></figure>

### Why the Pixal PFPs Matter for Your Pixel Journey

The Pixal PFPs are far more than just collectibles — they are your gateway into the entire Pixel Journey economy, governance, and educational experience. Holding a Pixal gives you direct access to Pixel Ingredients, staking rewards, airdrops, and community roles. This is hands-on Web3 education: learning about traits, utility, probability, and sustainable tokenomics while building something meaningful together. Every Pixal you hold or craft with strengthens your connection to the 1050+ day journey and prepares you for future PxPackages-powered experiences and the PxLearn Portal.

# End-of-Month/Holder Airdrops

It may be worth holding onto those Pixals! 👾👀 Monthly rewards in form of PXJ, ecosystem tokens and sometimes (soon?) NFTs!

One of the first features of the Pixal PFPs will be an automatic airdrop chance on monthly draws of prizes from our NFT-reward-pool, and/or sweet token rewards. This is a tangible way to see the economy in action and learn real Web3 incentive mechanics.

At the last minute of every month (UTC time) there's a series of snapshots of Pixal Holders that slightly vary in scope/rewards from month to month. By default we snapshot all Pixal Holders, and randomly draw a number of traits who get a bonus airdrop reward. The details of each snapshot are released a week in advance on our Discord, alongside a reminder to unstake/bridge back the Pixal PFPs to your own Wax Wallet — as bridging or custodial-staking might lead to the risk of missing out on these sweet airdrop rewards. Keep in mind certain staking platforms, such as those with long unstaking periods, require planning ahead.

This reward pool contains NFTs from across the ecosystem, as well as a limited allocation of our own Pixel Journey NFTs. It is refilled partly via collaboration agreements, donations, or via community/WaxRock Council decisions.

Currently you can get a look at the current status of the reward pools at:

* [pixeljourney on AtomicHub](https://atomichub.io/profile/wax-mainnet/pixeljourney)
* [pixals.pxj on AtomicHub](https://atomichub.io/profile/wax-mainnet/pixals.pxj?blockchain=wax-mainnet\&order=desc\&sort=transferred) or [pixals.pxj on Waxblock](https://waxblock.io/account/pixals.pxj)
* [pxj on AtomicHub](https://atomichub.io/profile/wax-mainnet/pxj)

These NFT-reward-pools will also be utilized for occasional Discord or X events/giveaways, and for NFT-reward prizes for our TacoSwap MEALS incentives.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Did you know you can track** [**pixals.pxj on Waxblock**](https://waxblock.io/account/pixals.pxj) **or WaxOnEdge Analytics?**

Every month to come \~5% PXJ from pixals.pxj is distributed across Pixal Holders.

This means airdrop amounts slowly reduce month-by-month, and that they can last perpetually!

Via Waxblock, or NFT inventory viewers, you may be able to get some insights into what tokens or airdrops may be coming up next 👀
{% endhint %}

## Why These Airdrops Matter for Your Pixel Journey

Monthly airdrops are more than just free stuff — they are a live lesson in sustainable tokenomics, probability, strategic holding, and community rewards. By participating, you learn how incentives work in Web3, how to plan around mechanics (unstaking timing), and how holding early assets can compound value over the long 1050+ day journey. This directly prepares you for future PxPackages-powered experiences and the PxLearn Portal.

## Airdrops Per Pixal Held

\~60% of the airdrop of each month is equally split between all Pixal PFPs in circulation that are held by eligible accounts (i.e. dao.pxj/team.pxj/swap.taco accounts Pixals don't count).

## Random Trait Airdrops

The remaining \~40% of each month’s airdrop is distributed between 4-8 randomly picked traits that vary from month to month. Each of the random picked traits share an equal part of the airdrop, meaning that rarer traits with fewer holders can be lucky to receive more PXJ when their traits are drawn (less holders to share with). Common traits may receive a smaller random trait airdrop even if lucky to be drawn.

There are 323 traits (none doesn't count, besides for eyes/mouth), and they are all equally likely to be drawn in the monthly trait draws.

The very rarest of traits (Black Rock WaxRocks) have only \~8 holders, where the more common traits have up to \~400 holders, so there can be a huge difference between each extra lucky trait held.

### Pixel Journey Tips for Maximizing Airdrops

* **Plan Ahead**: Always check Discord for snapshot details and unstake in time (especially from platforms with long cooldowns).
* **Diversify Holdings**: Holding a mix of common and rare traits increases your chances across different draw types.
* **Stay Active**: Participate in the community — some events and Council decisions influence extra rewards.
* **Track Everything**: Use Waxblock and inventory tools to monitor pools and understand reward flows. This builds real analytical skills.
* **Think Long-Term**: Consistent holding compounds value over the entire journey and into PxPackages-powered future phases.
* **Learn the Mechanics**: Understanding probability and timing here teaches transferable Web3 skills.

### Seasonal Trait Airdrops

Upon various seasons there will be an extra high chance of additional airdrops in certain themed categories of Pixal PFPs:

* Valentines
* Summer Fest
* Halloween
* XMAS

In these cases, it may be that the Rock Council decides to reallocate the Random Trait airdrops to either only be drawn within a certain category of traits, or to be entirely replaced to airdrop all the season's traits instead.

### Pixal Holder Airdrop History:

* End February Snapshot: 1M PXJ distributed (4050 eligible Pixals)
* End March Snapshot: 2M PXJ distributed (\~4800 eligible Pixals)
* Mid April Snapshot (WUFFI Launch Celebration): 1.5M PXJ + 1B WUF distributed (5350 eligible Pixals)
* End of April Snapshot: 3M PXJ distributed (5800 eligible Pixals)
* End of May Snapshot: 4.2M PXJ + 169M WUF + 1.69B CHAD (8366 eligible Pixals)
* End of June Snapshot: 4.25M PXJ + 166M WUF + 1.69B CHAD (8186 eligible Pixals)

This system is a beautiful example of how early participation in the Pixel Journey creates ongoing value and learning opportunities. Keep holding, keep learning, and enjoy the rewards as we build the best Web3 educational adventure together!

*Part of our mission to create the most helpful and pixel-perfect Web3 journey material in the space.*

# Pixal WAXDAO Staking

Pixals currently have non-custodial staking via WaxDAO (for a bonus 1 PXJ an hour per Pixal PFP)

{% embed url="<https://waxdao.io/v2/farm/pixeljourney>" %}
<https://waxdao.io/v2/farm/pixeljourney>
{% endembed %}

Our first Pixal NFT Staking Farm on WaxDAO started out 18th of March 2024, and initially distributed 0.25 PXJ/hour for each Pixal staked.

In June it was increased to 0.5 PXJ/h, and finally in October up to the current rate of 1 PXJ/h.

The current plan for Pixal PFPs is to let them stake at the current rates till the end of Season 1, after which it will be up to the [Rock Council](/season-1/the-rock-council) to allocate them PXJ to boost their WaxDAO Farm staking power if desired in the community.

The staking is non-custodial, meaning that the Pixal PFPs remain in stakers wallets (and can for example be listed on markets simultaneously with staking).

###

# Rock/PixelPet (Trait) Airdrops

It may just pay off to hold those Pixals folks! 🎁👀

Among the Pixal PFPs traits there will be three (3) trait types with a chance to on their own reward the PFP holders with NFT airdrops at a later (and community announced) date. These three are:

* WaxRocks
* Pixel Pets
* Certain BG-traits (from photography created by Piga)

The WaxRocks functionality will start out using the ownership of the PFPs with the traits, and the Pixel Pets won't come into function into a later phase of the Journey, still. \\

Additionally each of the special PigaPhoto-BG traits will have a chance to both drop their owners a version of those photo-NFTs, and later on have a chance to get airdropped random future PigaPhoto featured collectible NFTs as well! More info on this to come - but for now, can you guess which BGs it could be? 👀😉🔥

# PixelPets

### Pixel Pet Completist Discord Role

Complete your Pixal PixelPet collection (getting one of each Pixal PFPs Pixel Pet traits), and honeycomb will automatically grant you the Pixel Pet Completist role on Discord!

This role grants you:

* Occasional extra airdrops on the Discord
* An extra Discord XP Leveling Boost
* Additional Voting power in our WaxRock Council (if you own a WaxRock for access), or in our community wide votes
* Access to our "MEGA-DROPS" channel (alongside Ingredient Completists, Pixal Stackers of +50 Pixals, or WaxRock holders)

### Next planned utility

PixelPets will function as small characters to utilize in a planned mini-game (ETA for release towards the end of '25), with more info to come. Before then they will be airdropped as separate NFTs to their Pixal Holders.

So you have a Pixal PFP — now what? **$WPIXAL** is the utility token that unlocks a new layer of DeFi and liquidity for your Pixal PFPs within the Pixel Journey ecosystem. Launched in March 2025, it lets you tokenize your PFP into a liquid asset.

### What is $WPIXAL?

$WPIXAL represents a tokenized version of your Pixal PFP. By tokenizing, you can participate in DeFi while keeping the option to redeem back into an NFT later.

**How it works:**

1. Go to [r-wax.io](https://r-wax.io/token/pixeljourney/WPIXAL) and tokenize your Pixal PFP (small 1 WAX fee).
2. Receive $WPIXAL based on your Pixal type:
   * Regular Pixal: 1 $WPIXAL
   * PixelPet trait: 1.1 $WPIXAL
   * WaxRock trait: 25 $WPIXAL (big bonus!)
3. Use $WPIXAL in DeFi:
   * Provide liquidity on pools like WPIXAL/PXJ, WPIXAL/WAX, WPIXAL/KING, or WPIXAL/WUF
   * Stake/farm on Alcor or TacoSwap for additional rewards

### Why $WPIXAL Matters

* **Liquidity**: Turns illiquid NFTs into tradable tokens.
* **DeFi Access**: Earn rewards through liquidity provision and farming.
* **Price Discovery**: Helps establish clearer value for Pixal PFPs.
* **Rarity Rewards**: Bonus $WPIXAL for rare traits (PixelPet & WaxRock) incentivizes collecting special Pixals.

### Pro Tips for $WPIXAL

* Hunt for WaxRock Pixals on marketplaces like AtomicHub — they give the highest $WPIXAL payout.
* Watch for arbitrage between NFT floor prices and $WPIXAL pools.
* Stake and farm to earn passive $PXJ and other rewards.
* Redeem rare PFPs using $WPIXAL when opportunities appear (note: redemption is random).

### Key Integrations

* **Tokenize/Redeem**: [r-wax.io](https://r-wax.io/token/pixeljourney/WPIXAL)
* **NFT Trading**: NFTHive & AtomicHub
* **Liquidity & Farming**: Alcor Exchange & TacoSwap
* **Analytics**: WaxOnEdge

### The Future of $WPIXAL

Expect more utility over time, including potential governance participation, exclusive access, and cross-chain expansion. $WPIXAL is your ticket to deeper engagement with your Pixal PFPs and the broader Pixel Journey economy.

Tokenize your PFP and start exploring the $WPIXAL ecosystem today!

# Recycling & Crafting

Pixels don't just appear out of nowhere on this journey (just yet, anyway)!

A core recurring mechanic in Pixel Journey is **recycling** (blending) of NFTs and pixel collectibles. Most assets are designed to be reusable or upgradable into new things as we progress through each phase. This creates a sustainable, rewarding economy where your early participation continues to generate value.

The Pixal PFPs serve as the primary key to unlock the Pixel Journey economy in Season 1 through their near-exclusive access to PixelPacks. Our $PXJ token is a core resource required at every step of the recycling and crafting routes.

<figure><img src="/files/JPJJq24VP6wOGkNODDCO" alt=""><figcaption><p>Pixel Ingredient Pack</p></figcaption></figure>

Pixal PFPs can be recycled (blended) into Pixel Ingredient Pack NFTs. These packs can then be unpacked to claim 10 Pixel Ingredient NFTs, starting your crafting journey.

Both PixelPacks and the single-pixel ingredients are directly stakable for $PXJ via our WaxDAO NFT Farm. They can be upgraded to unlock higher/special colors and serve as core ingredients for future crafts and collectibles on WAX.

{% embed url="<https://neftyblocks.com/collection/pixeljourney/blends/blend.nefty/37700>" %}
<https://neftyblocks.com/collection/pixeljourney/blends/blend.nefty/37700>
{% endembed %}

### Why Recycling & Crafting Matters for Your Pixel Journey

Recycling and crafting are not just mechanics — they are the heart of our sustainable economy and hands-on education. By participating, you learn real Web3 skills: understanding burn mechanics, resource management, probability, strategic decision-making, and building long-term value. These skills transfer directly to future phases, PxPackages-powered tools, and the broader Web3 multiverse. Every recycled Pixal and crafted ingredient strengthens the ecosystem while teaching you how tokenomics and NFT utility actually work.

### What You'll Learn Through Recycling & Crafting

* **Sustainable Economy Design**: How burns, faucets, and progressive costs create balance (tied to our yearly New Year’s Eve PXJ mint of \~10% remaining supply to dao.pxj / team.pxj / dev.pxj / defi.pxj / craft.pxj pools).
* **NFT Utility & Blending**: How traits, probabilities, and combinations create rarity and value.
* **Staking & Rewards**: How to put assets to work earning PXJ.
* **Strategic Participation**: Timing, risk management, and community coordination.
* **Foundation for PxPackages**: Early exposure to modular crafting logic that will power future miniDApps and the PxLearn Portal.

### What are Pixel Ingredient Packs?

Pixel Ingredient Packs are the next step toward Pixel Collectibles. They bind the pixel economy together as it rolls out progressively.

Each pack contains 10 Primary colored Pixel Ingredients (randomly red, blue, or yellow). These can later be combined/blended with $PXJ into secondary colors (green, purple, orange). Specific combinations of colored ingredients will be required for future crafts, upgrades, and special blends.

Initially, Pixel Ingredient Packs are obtained exclusively via Pixal PFP recycling. After every \~2,000 recycled Pixals, we will add more packs to TacoSwap NFT Rewards and run special giveaway events. Eventually, up to 20,000 packs will be available through $PXJ in future phases.

### PXJ Recycling Costs (Increase per 500 Pixals)

The recycling fee starts at 2,000 PXJ per recycle and increases by 2,000 PXJ for every 500 Pixals recycled:

* 0–499: 2,000 PXJ
* 500–999: 4,000 PXJ
* 1,000–1,499: 6,000 PXJ
* 1,500–1,999: 8,000 PXJ
* 2,000–2,499: 10,000 PXJ
* 2,500–2,999: 12,000 PXJ
* 3,000–3,499: 14,000 PXJ
* 3,500–3,999: 16,000 PXJ
* 4,000–4,499: 18,000 PXJ
* 4,500–4,999: 20,000 PXJ
* 5,000–5,499: 22,000 PXJ
* 5,500–5,999: 24,000 PXJ
* 6,000–6,499: 26,000 PXJ
* 6,500–6,999: 28,000 PXJ
* 7,000–7,499: 30,000 PXJ
* 7,500–8,000: 32,000 PXJ

{% hint style="danger" %}
**Warning: Recycling is a permanent burn and cannot be undone!**

Be very careful when selecting which Pixals to recycle. Pixals with rare traits (WaxRock or PixelPet) are generally less ideal to recycle early. NFA. Consider your long-term collection goals and the educational journey.
{% endhint %}

### The Pixal Cemetery on Discord

Our community member Banoshi created a **Pixal Cemetery** on Discord where you can view the history of recycled Pixals and keep up with the latest burns. A great place to learn from others' choices and celebrate the ecosystem's evolution.

### Unpacking Packs

{% embed url="<https://pixelpack.pixeljourney.xyz/>" %}
[https://pixelpack.pixeljourney.xyz/](https://pixelpack.pixeljourney.xyz)
{% endembed %}

**Unpack your Pixel Ingredient Packs!**

Each pack contains 10 random Pixel Ingredients with the following probabilities:

* 33.2667% Blue
* 33.2667% Yellow
* 33.2667% Red
* 0.2% Black (rare)

### Pixel Journey Tips for Smart Recycling & Crafting

* **Start Strategic**: Recycle common-trait Pixals first to build your ingredient base while preserving rare ones.
* **Stake Everything**: PixelPacks and ingredients earn PXJ — put them to work immediately.
* **Learn Probabilities**: Understand color chances and plan future blends.
* **Community First**: Check the Pixal Cemetery and Discord for collective insights before big decisions.
* **Think Long-Term**: Every craft builds skills and assets that will matter in PxPackages-powered experiences and future seasons.
* **Track Your Journey**: Note what you learn — it prepares you to contribute to PxLearn content later.

This system is the foundation of our sustainable, educational economy. By participating thoughtfully, you're not just collecting — you're mastering Web3 mechanics that will serve you across the entire Pixel Journey and beyond.

*Part of our mission to create the best, most educational Web3 journey material in the space.*

# Pixel Ingredients & Pack Staking

Both Pixel Ingredient Packs & Single Pixel Ingredients NFTs will become stakeable via the WaxDAO NFT-staking farms 🧑‍🌾

As part of season 1, we will introduce WaxDAO and the features there, from where we'll setup farms for certain of our templates to become stakeable for $PXJ, WUF and Wax.

These templates/schemas will initially be the Pixel Packs (that the Pixal PFPs blend into), and soon after their release to include the pixel ingredients that the packs unpack into, as well as later the Pixel collectibles we'll end up crafting with them along the journey.

* Packs initially generated 5 PXJ per hour
* Primary Pixel Ingredients (Red - Blue - Yellow) generated PXJ at 0.45 PXJ per hour
* Secondary Pixel Ingredients (green - purple - orange) generate 2.05 PXJ an hour, and require 25K PXJ + 2 primary ingredients to be created
* Tertiary Pixel Ingredients (amber, magenta, vermilion, chartreuse, teal and violet) stake for 12 PXJ an hour, and require 125K PXJ + a primary + secondary ingredient to be created

{% hint style="success" %}
**Current WaxDAO Pixeljourney NFT Farm rates are as following:**\
\
**Pixel Ingredient Packs generate 2.5 PXJ/H + 5 WUF/H**\
\
**Primary Pixel Ingredients generate 0.2 PXJ/H + 5 WUF/H**\
\
**Secondary Pixel Ingredient genrate 2.5 PXJ/H + 12 WUF/H**\
\
**Tertiary Pixel Ingredients generate 13.5 PXJ/H + 50 WUF/H**\
\
**Black Pixel Ingredients generate 124 PXJ/H + 124 WUF/H**\
\
**Stake your journey collectibles on WaxDAO here:** [**https://waxdao.io/v2/farm/pixeljourney**](https://waxdao.io/v2/farm/pixeljourney)
{% endhint %}

Pixel Ingredient Upgrades can happen via blends on NFTHive, WaxDAO and Neftyblocks, and will be quite intuitive (e.g. red + blue pixels produce purple pixels .. each step upgrading single pixels rarity)

# Pixel Collectibles

Apart from our collectible Pixal PFPs, we'll meet many other collectibles along our Pixel Journey

Most of the collectibles further along in the journey will be obtainable in the various ways:

1. Primarily created (and further upgraded) with PXJ
2. Via occasional random Pixal PFP Trait airdrop rewards
3. Via TacoSwap NFT-staking rewards
4. Via events and giveaways on our SoMe servers/Twitters
5. Via blends/crafts made available along the way using NFTHive, WaxDAO and NB Blends/Crafts, recycling prior collectibles

Each different type of collectible may end up having slightly different crafting demands, as well as mint-availability, and will be announced via our channels well ahead of becoming unlockable.

For the main Season 1 collectibles series Piga's photography will come in .. (soon)

Most of our most common crafts will be in a supply that is unlikely to run out. In the other end more exclusive crafts along the way may end up selling out quickly, or having a small sale window of availability, so those interested collectors will need to be ready for, and quick to claim.

<figure><img src="/files/duumawtM857BPCpMZzOi" alt=""><figcaption><p>A PigaPhoto asset in Pixelated form, that can also be found among the Pixal PFP Background traits</p></figcaption></figure>

As an extra special feature among certain of our [Pixal PFP](/season-1/the-pixal-pfps) (background) traits; Holders of certain traits will automatically have an added chance of occasionally getting pixelated photography (initially mainly from [Piga](/introduction/the-pxjourney-team)) airdropped.

These pixelpromo/collectibles will be among the first of our upgradable NFTs, and you can read more about how that works in this following section.

## Collectibles Upgrades

As part of our Pixel Journey mechanics, we'll have Pixel Upgrading of various collectibles/pixelpromo assets (much alike with Ingredients themselves).

<div><figure><img src="/files/PFaXdkWVMZwZUQJULih8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/nXIqtlfF8PLlnzRk7lHi" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/3eOUAUBSzmzgvwr4zFvB" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

An example of this can be seen just here above, where one of Pigas photos can be seen in its various low-definition pixelated forms.

Multiple steps of different assets can/will be made available to upgrade through, in quickly decreasing max mints/availability.

Each step might unlock new details, and change the 'quality' of the collectible quite a lot. As well as possibly get to unlock certain added or improved features, such as high staking power or other future utilities.

<figure><img src="/files/GNkRQTeVhgaT4DD1jGQI" alt=""><figcaption><p>Full definition Image Example (this can either be as part of the Pixel Journey collection itself, or to be unlocked in their respective artists own collections.</p></figcaption></figure>

The final/top resolution versions of each assets may turn out to be extremely hard/expensive to acquire, and can be as limited as being 1/1s, for the most dedicated collectors to acquire.

These collectible blending/upgrade mechanics may further extend to other schemas/parts of the Pixel Journey as we move on as well 🫡🧑‍🔬🧪

# The Rock Council

The first phase of building towards a PixelDAO

The **Rock/WaxRocks Council** represents the first major step toward community-driven governance in Pixel Journey. It serves as the highest influence level in our current governance structure, with plans to evolve into a full **PixelDAO** as the project grows. This is your hands-on education in real Web3 governance — learning how communities make decisions, allocate resources, and shape the future together.

<figure><img src="/files/s8ZrFHcqqt4GUCBdRnB3" alt="" width="563"><figcaption><p>A Pixal PFP with a random WaxRock trait generated at mint</p></figcaption></figure>

### Why Governance Education Matters in Your Pixel Journey

Understanding and participating in governance is one of the most powerful skills in Web3. The Rock Council gives you direct experience with voting systems, resource allocation, community incentives, and collective decision-making. These are the exact skills that will power future PixelDAO structures, PxPackages-powered tools, and the broader decentralized web. By engaging here, you're not just influencing Pixel Journey — you're building transferable expertise for any DAO or community project.

### What You'll Learn Through the Rock Council

* **Governance Mechanics**: How voting power, proposals, and consensus actually work in practice.
* **Incentive Design**: How rewards, boosts, and allocations shape behavior and growth.
* **Community Leadership**: The balance between core team vision and decentralized input.
* **Long-term Visioning**: How early governance structures evolve into full DAOs.

# Bridges to Polygon, BASE, ETH and beyond

As part of our first season 1 of this Pixel Journey adventure, we'll already start bridging NFT assets to both ETH and Polygon networks! 🛸

Certain series and collectibles from the Pixel Journey (including Pixals) are bridgeable to other NFT-enabled blockchains via the MyCloudWallet Bridge.

This means your assets can move beyond WAX while retaining their utility and history. Bridging opens access to different markets, ecosystems, and features on each chain — a powerful real-world lesson in Web3 interoperability.

We have already bridged to:

* **Polygon** (view on OpenSea)
* **Ethereum** (view on OpenSea)
* **Base** (view on OpenSea)
* **BNB Chain** (view on Monbase)

All via the [MyCloudWallet Bridge](https://github.com/pixel-journey/gitbook-docs/blob/main/introduction/wax-ecosystem-guides/cloud-wallet-bridge/README.md).

Future phases will continue expanding bridging options as new opportunities arise. Mechanics from previous chains (like recycling on WAX) generally remain available even as we explore new ecosystems.

### Why Bridging Matters for Your Pixel Journey

Bridging is one of the most important skills in modern Web3. It teaches you about cross-chain interoperability, asset portability, different ecosystem strengths, and how to navigate multiple blockchains safely. By bridging your Pixals and collectibles, you’re not just moving assets — you’re expanding your understanding of the full Web3 multiverse. This directly prepares you for the multi-chain future powered by PxPackages and the comprehensive educational experiences in our standalone PxLearn Portal.

### What You'll Learn Through Bridging

* **Cross-Chain Mechanics**: How assets retain utility and history across different blockchains.
* **Ecosystem Comparison**: Strengths of WAX (NFTs, low fees) vs. Polygon/Ethereum (broader markets, DeFi depth).
* **Risk Management**: Safe bridging practices, timing, and wallet management.
* **Strategic Participation**: How to maximize value by accessing different marketplaces and communities.
* **Foundation for Multi-Chain Future**: Direct experience that will power future PxPackages dApps and explorations.

### Pixel Journey Tips for Bridging

* **Start Simple**: Bridge a small number of assets first to understand the process and fees.
* **Use Official Tools**: Always use the MyCloudWallet Bridge or verified methods to minimize risk.
* **Plan Your Timing**: Check snapshot schedules (e.g., for airdrops) before bridging out of WAX.
* **Explore New Markets**: Once bridged, discover OpenSea and other platforms for trading and visibility.
* **Stay Informed**: Follow Discord and X for bridge-related events, new chain support, and tips from the community.
* **Think Long-Term**: Bridged assets remain part of your Pixel Journey collection and will integrate with future PxPackages-powered features.
* **Document Your Experience**: Note what you learn — bridging knowledge is highly transferable and valuable for the PxLearn community.

Bridging is a beautiful extension of our flexible, milestone-driven journey. It allows us to carry the spirit of WAX (our strong foundation since 2023) into the wider Web3 world while building the most educational and pixel-perfect adventure possible.

Over 1050 days strong — and the bridges ahead are full of exciting new pixels! 🚀🛸

*Part of our mission to make every individual section Px Perfect, meaningful, and maximally helpful.*

# What's next?

We will continue bridging our collectibles, PFPs, tokens, and dApps across multiple NFT-enabled blockchains as opportunities arise. This allows the community to collectively explore new parts of the Web3 metaverse while building on the strong WAX foundation established in Season 1.

While Season 1 focused heavily on DeFi and NFT mechanics on WAX, future phases will bring new experiences, mechanics, and surprises as we expand. The first pioneers bridging to new chains may discover exciting opportunities that make continuing the journey even more rewarding.

### Education & Onboarding

We remain committed to making crypto onboarding as smooth and safe as possible. This includes curating guides, assisting newcomers, and maintaining a welcoming learning space. As our resources grow, we will gradually shift more focus toward inviting and onboarding new explorers from across Web3.

### Collaborations & Community Input

We actively welcome collaborations. Community and team-selected projects may gain roles in the Pixel economy. If you're building something interesting and would like to explore integration, open a ticket or reach out on Discord.

### Future Phases

Season 1 has been our extended foundational phase, with significant work on core mechanics, the Pixal collection, the $PXJ economy, and the major PxPackages technical framework (late 2025 – mid 2026).

As we complete Season 1 objectives, future phases will focus on:

* Multi-chain expansion (starting with strong bridges to Polygon, Ethereum, and beyond)
* New collectible series and mechanics
* Enhanced dApps leveraging PxPackages
* Deeper DeFi and crafting integrations
* Continued education and community events

Specific timelines will remain flexible and milestone-driven rather than strictly calendar-based, allowing each phase to fully mature before we move forward. A more detailed reveal of upcoming features and the first major dApp(s) will be shared as we near the end of Season 1.

The journey continues — and we're excited to explore what's next together! 🚀🌎

# Future Seasons

* First phase of PixelDAO via the WaxRocks Council
* Comprehensive guides for navigating the WAX ecosystem

Many of these mechanics will remain long-term features of the Pixel Journey, even as we expand. We do **not** abandon previous blockchains — their unique tools and systems stay integrated.

Future joiners can always explore earlier phases and chains to complete collections or achieve special feats, while new opportunities open up as we grow.

### Our Approach Going Forward

Rather than rigid yearly seasons, future phases will be milestone-driven and flexible. Each phase focuses on major expansions (new chains, new mechanics, new collectibles) while previous content remains accessible and valuable.

One phase and blockchain focus at a time 👾🛸

You'll see more details and early hints in our Discord as we progress. Things can evolve as we activate more community governance through PixelDAO.

NFA — the journey is always adapting and improving based on what we learn together!

# Antelope Ecosystem Guides

**Pixel Journey's Safe Multi-Chain Handbook for the Antelope Family**

Antelope powers some of the most efficient, account-centric blockchains in Web3 — optimized for **low fees, fast finality, human-readable accounts, and seamless NFT/DeFi experiences**. WAX is Pixel Journey's core home (Pixals, PXJ economy, creator tools), but exploring sister chains like **XPR Network** and **Vaulta (previously EOS)**, plus truly new/emerging Antelope chains, offers incredible value for cost-effective experimentation, future-proofing with PxPortals, and diversified learning — all while keeping your primary focus and capital on the Pixel Journey ecosystem.

**Strong Safety First (DYOR Always)**: These are fast-moving ecosystems with smart contract risks, potential scams, and platform-specific gotchas. Never invest more than you can afford to lose. Start tiny. Use hardware wallets where possible. Revoke approvals regularly. Verify every contract and dapp. Pixel Journey content is educational only — not endorsements.

## 🛡️ Shared Safety & Best Practices Across All Antelope Chains

* **Start Tiny & Scale Slowly**: Test every new dapp, DEX, or NFT platform with dust amounts first. Learn the UI, fees, and risks.
* **Resource Management**: Always monitor/stake sufficient CPU/NET (or use REX on EOS). Running out mid-transaction is frustrating and costly in opportunity.
* **Wallet Hygiene**: Primary recommendation for WAX = **Anchor Wallet** (desktop + mobile). For XPR/EOS explore official or trusted options (e.g. Anchor-compatible where available). Use hardware wallets (Ledger etc.) for larger holdings.
* **Revoke Approvals Regularly**: Smart contracts can retain infinite approvals. Use trusted revoke tools or manual checks on explorers. Never approve what you don't understand.
* **Scam Awareness**: Fast ecosystems = fast scams (fake airdrops, phishing sites mimicking AtomicHub/Neftyblocks, malicious contracts). Verify URLs, contracts on official explorers (waxblock.io, bloks.io, eosauthority.com, etc.). Never click random links from Discord/Twitter.
* **Smart Contract Risks**: Even audited contracts can have bugs. DYOR, read docs, check audits if available. Pixel Journey content highlights known cautions on specific platforms.
* **Hardware & Backup**: For anything beyond play money, use hardware. Backup seeds securely. Never share private keys.
* **Multi-Chain Portfolio Tracking**: Use tools like explorers + portfolio dashboards. Keep primary capital and focus on WAX/Pixel Journey.

**Pixel Journey Relevance**: These practices directly improve your safety and skill on WAX. Experimenting cheaply on XPR or EOS builds intuition for future PxPortals cross-chain moves and helps you spot opportunities (or red flags) faster in the core ecosystem.

> **⚠️ Important Note for Developers**\
> The WAX/Antelope ecosystem has evolved significantly. Many older libraries and tools are now deprecated. Always use modern, actively maintained tools and follow current best practices. This guide focuses on safe, future-proof development.

Welcome to the Developer Guides for WAX and the broader Antelope ecosystem. This section is designed to help developers build safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Pixel Journey's multi-chain vision.

## Introduction

WAX remains one of the most developer-friendly Antelope chains, especially for gaming, NFTs, and creator economies. However, the ecosystem has matured, and modern development practices are essential for security, performance, and maintainability.

Pixel Journey's own tools (PxWallet, PxPackages, PxPortals, etc.) are built with modern standards in mind, and we strongly encourage developers to follow similar approaches when building on WAX or integrating with our ecosystem.

## Best Practices for WAX / Antelope Development

### 1. Use Modern Libraries — Wharf Kit is Strongly Recommended

**Wharf Kit** is the current recommended standard for interacting with WAX and Antelope chains.

* It is actively maintained, secure, and designed for modern dApp development.
* It replaces older, deprecated libraries.
* It offers excellent support for session management, signing, and multi-wallet experiences.

**Deprecated / Avoid for New Projects**:

* **eosjs** — Long deprecated. Do not use for new development.
* **AnchorLink** — Deprecated in favor of modern alternatives.
* Any unmaintained or legacy EOSIO-era libraries.

## Wharf Kit Integration Patterns

**Wharf Kit** is the modern standard for building dApps on WAX and other Antelope chains. Below are the most common and recommended integration patterns used in production-grade applications.

### Installation

```bash
npm install @wharfkit/core @wharfkit/session @wharfkit/wallet-plugin-anchor
```

For React/Next.js projects, also consider:

```bash
npm install @wharfkit/react
```

### 1. Basic Wallet Connection Pattern

```ts
import { Session } from '@wharfkit/session'
import { WalletPluginAnchor } from '@wharfkit/wallet-plugin-anchor'
const session = new Session({
  chain: {
    id: '1064487b3cd1a897ce03ae5b6a865651747e2e152090f99c1d19d44e01aea5a4', // WAX Mainnet
    url: 'https://wax.greymass.com'
  },
  walletPlugin: new WalletPluginAnchor()
})
// Connect to Anchor wallet
const result = await session.login()
console.log('Connected account:', result.session.actor)
```

### 2. Persistent Session Management (Recommended)

Store the session so users don't have to reconnect every time:

```ts
import { Session } from '@wharfkit/session'
// Restore previous session if available
let session = Session.restore()
if (!session) {
  session = new Session({
    chain: { id: '...', url: '...' },
    walletPlugin: new WalletPluginAnchor()
  })
  await session.login()
  session.store() // Persist for future visits
}
```

### 3. Signing Transactions / Actions

```ts
const action = {
  account: 'atomicassets',
  name: 'transfer',
  authorization: [session.permissionLevel],
  data: {
    from: session.actor,
    to: 'receiver',
    asset_ids: [12345],
    memo: 'Pixel Journey transfer'
  }
}
const result = await session.transact({ actions: [action] })
console.log('Transaction ID:', result.transaction_id)
```

### 4. Multi-Chain Support (WAX + XPR + Vaulta)

Wharf Kit makes it easy to support multiple Antelope chains:

```ts
const chains = {
  wax: { id: '...', url: 'https://wax.greymass.com' },
  xpr: { id: '...', url: 'https://xpr.greymass.com' },
  vaulta: { id: '...', url: 'https://vaulta.greymass.com' }
// Switch chain dynamically
session = new Session({
  chain: chains.wax,
  walletPlugin: new WalletPluginAnchor()
})
```

This pattern is especially powerful for future **PxPortals** cross-chain experiences.

### 5. Error Handling & User Feedback

```ts
try {
  const result = await session.transact({ actions: [...] })
} catch (error) {
  if (error.message.includes('user_cancelled')) {
    console.log('User cancelled the transaction')
  } else {
    console.error('Transaction failed:', error)
    // Show user-friendly error message
  }
}
```

### 6. React / Modern Framework Integration

Use the official `@wharfkit/react` package for clean hooks:

```tsx
import { useSession } from '@wharfkit/react'
function PixelJourneyDapp() {
  const { session, login, logout } = useSession()
  return (
    <div>
      {session ? (
        <>
          <p>Connected: {session.actor}</p>
          <button onClick={logout}>Disconnect</button>
        </>
      ) : (
        <button onClick={login}>Connect with Anchor</button>
      )}
    </div>
  )
}
```

### Best Practices for Production dApps

* Always use **persistent sessions** for better UX.
* Handle **user cancellation** gracefully.
* Show clear loading states during transactions.
* Validate all data before sending transactions.
* Use TypeScript for type safety on actions and responses.
* Support hardware wallets (Ledger) via Anchor for high-value interactions.
* Log errors properly but never expose sensitive information.
* Test thoroughly on testnet before mainnet.

### Security Considerations

* Never store private keys in your frontend.
* Always validate user input on both client and server (when applicable).
* Be extremely careful with permissions and approvals in your dApp.
* Regularly update Wharf Kit and dependencies.
* Consider rate limiting and abuse prevention for public dApps.

## Advanced Patterns for Pixel Journey Integration

These advanced patterns are especially useful when building tools that integrate deeply with Pixel Journey assets and features.

### Atomic Assets Integration (Pixals, Ingredients, Collectibles)

```ts
// Example: Transferring a Pixel Journey NFT (Atomic Asset)
const transferAction = {
  account: 'atomicassets',
  name: 'transfer',
  authorization: [session.permissionLevel],
  data: {
    from: session.actor,
    to: receiver,
    asset_ids: [pixelAssetId],
    memo: 'Pixel Journey transfer via PxMarket'
  }
}
const result = await session.transact({ actions: [transferAction] })
```

**Tips**:

* Always validate asset ownership before transfers.
* Use memo fields for tracking Pixel Journey-related activity.
* Combine with PxMarket for seamless marketplace experiences.

### Resource Management (CPU/NET/RAM)

WAX requires careful resource management for smooth UX:

```ts
// Check account resources
const accountInfo = await session.client.v1.chain.get_account(session.actor)
console.log('CPU:', accountInfo.cpu_limit)
console.log('NET:', accountInfo.net_limit)
console.log('RAM:', accountInfo.ram_quota)
```

**Best Practice**: For high-volume dApps, implement resource rental or subsidization patterns, or guide users to stake resources via Anchor.

### PxWallet & Future PxPortals Integration Patterns

When building for PxWallet or future PxPortals:

* Use persistent sessions for seamless multi-chain experiences.
* Abstract chain-specific logic behind a unified interface.
* Support hardware wallets for high-value Pixel Journey assets.
* Plan for cross-chain asset movement and unified UX.

### Batch Transactions & Efficiency

```ts
// Example: Multiple actions in one transaction
const actions = [transferAction, stakingAction, craftingAction]
const result = await session.transact({ actions })
```

Batch transactions improve UX and reduce fees where applicable.

## Wharf Kit Integration Patterns

**Wharf Kit** is the modern standard for building dApps on XPR and other Antelope chains. The patterns below are adapted for XPR's fast, low-cost, and payments/identity-focused environment.

### Installation

```bash
npm install @wharfkit/core @wharfkit/session @wharfkit/wallet-plugin-anchor
```

For React/Next.js projects:

```bash
npm install @wharfkit/react
```

### 1. Basic Wallet Connection Pattern

```ts
import { Session } from '@wharfkit/session'
import { WalletPluginAnchor } from '@wharfkit/wallet-plugin-anchor'
const session = new Session({
  chain: {
    id: 'XPR_CHAIN_ID_HERE', // Replace with actual XPR chain ID
    url: 'https://xpr.greymass.com'
  },
  walletPlugin: new WalletPluginAnchor()
})
const result = await session.login()
console.log('Connected account:', result.session.actor)
```

### 2. Persistent Session Management (Recommended)

```ts
import { Session } from '@wharfkit/session'
let session = Session.restore()
if (!session) {
  session = new Session({
    chain: { id: '...', url: '...' },
    walletPlugin: new WalletPluginAnchor()
  })
  await session.login()
  session.store()
}
```

### 3. Signing Efficient Transactions on XPR

XPR's low-cost nature makes it excellent for frequent small transactions:

```ts
const action = {
  account: 'yourcontract',
  name: 'transfer',
  authorization: [session.permissionLevel],
  data: {
    from: session.actor,
    to: 'receiver',
    quantity: '1.0000 XPR',
    memo: 'Pixel Journey payment'
  }
}
const result = await session.transact({ actions: [action] })
console.log('Transaction ID:', result.transaction_id)
```

### 4. Multi-Chain Support (XPR + WAX + Vaulta)

```ts
const chains = {
  xpr: { id: '...', url: 'https://xpr.greymass.com' },
  wax: { id: '...', url: 'https://wax.greymass.com' },
  vaulta: { id: '...', url: 'https://vaulta.greymass.com' }
}
session = new Session({
  chain: chains.xpr,
  walletPlugin: new WalletPluginAnchor()
})
```

This pattern is ideal for future **PxPortals** cross-chain experiences.

### 5. Error Handling & User Feedback

```ts
try {
  const result = await session.transact({ actions: [...] })
} catch (error) {
  if (error.message.includes('user_cancelled')) {
    console.log('User cancelled')
  } else {
    console.error('Transaction failed:', error)
  }
}
```

### 6. React Integration

```tsx
import { useSession } from '@wharfkit/react'
function XPRDapp() {
  const { session, login, logout } = useSession()
  return (
    <div>
      {session ? (
        <p>Connected on XPR: {session.actor}</p>
      ) : (
        <button onClick={login}>Connect with Anchor</button>
      )}
    </div>
  )
}
```

### Best Practices for XPR dApps

Vaulta has a maturing DEX ecosystem as it evolves toward regulated Web3 banking and institutional use cases. Liquidity and features are developing, with focus on secure and compliant trading.

## Key DEXes on Vaulta

Vaulta has several decentralized exchanges and swapping platforms. Options include established Antelope-compatible DEXes and new tools emerging with the rebrand and $A token focus.

**Best Practices**

* Compare rates across available platforms before large swaps.
* Be aware of slippage, especially on less liquid pairs.
* Double-check token contract addresses.
* Use official sites only (verify URLs).
* Start with small test swaps when trying new platforms or tokens.
* Monitor gas/resource costs carefully.

## Security Tips for DEX Usage on Vaulta

* Never approve unlimited token spending unless necessary (revoke regularly).
* Be extremely cautious of new or low-liquidity tokens (higher scam risk).
* Use hardware wallets for large holdings when possible.
* Start small when interacting with new pools or tokens on Vaulta.
* Be extra cautious of new or high-value projects.

## Pixel Journey Relevance

Vaulta DEXes can be useful for efficient token movement and DeFi experimentation within the evolving Antelope ecosystem. This complements your WAX activities and will become more valuable as PxPortals expands cross-chain capabilities. However, your primary focus and capital should remain on WAX collections, Pixals, and the PXJ economy. Use Vaulta mainly for understanding broader Antelope developments and low-risk experimentation.

As PxSwap develops, it may offer optimized routing that includes Vaulta pools in the future.
